My approach to teaching is simple:
1. Meet the student where they are at in their current musical abilities
2. Set goals with the student and come up with realistic timelines and expectations to achieve goals
3. Teach students how to practice and have autonomy over their instrument and musicianship
4. Make adaptations and diversify instruction when needed
The most important thing to me as a teacher is that the student is getting something out of taking private lessons. A solid foundation of technique and musical understanding can go a long way.
